Knott, this is an opinion. A personal one. If you're respecting Adam's opinions, even though they're pretty slim about the subject, why wouldn't you respect mine? Is it because I don't have a "staff" attached to my username?
I respect the fact he doesn't like this record. I respect the fact that he doesn't like this band. I disagree with his review because it doesn't feel like one. Is that hard to understand?

Any educated TBS fan will understand your last line like you're professing your fan for Brand New
as an educated tbs fan, that is completely insulting. Now for the rest.
Because a) it's a throwback for a line of their least mature and worst record
yes it is. so? i was implying that what you said in part b.
b) implies that you think they're stucked in the past, when they clearly aren't.
that may be what you think, but again that isn't objective fact. and more to the point, it has nothing at all to do with brand new.

Can you tell me with a straight face that you're really more into TBS than Brand New, with your 3 scores to TELL ALL YOUR FRIENDS and NEW AGAIN and giving this a 1.5? This is a trolling review. And you know it.

japandroid, what's your endgame here? what do you want to come out of all of this?

@Satellite I'm just waiting for midnight to get my hands on the album.
Oh, and discussing music that I enjoy. Isn't that why this website exists?

where'd i say i liked taking back sunday more than brand new? you've deduced i like brand new more than taking back sunday, bravo, but the flaw in your logic is that youre acting like theyre objectively equal bands and having a preference towards one is a rejection of the other. which may indeed be your opinion, even if its juvenile crap, but thats only your opinion. sorry brah

No, they're very different bands. But finally with this album TBS made something worth of
recognition, a record that in my eyes have surpassed both two last Brand New records. Ubber Brand
New fans like you, one that can give the same score to TAYF and New Again, without acknowlegdging
how much of a classic album TAYF is, aren't really the most indicated persons to judge this record.
Especially on SputnikMusic, where there are actually staff members that are way more into this band
than you.
I love both bands, but I do know of people that love more one or another and their tendecies to do
just what you did. By the way, it's funny how I brought more points to the table, yet you keep
discussing about the point that hit you more close to the heart, don't you? Sorry if I hit a nerve
there, brah

Amore. Amazing new record by the way.

On topic with the album: I just listened to like 30 seconds of "El Paso" and I remember why I hated this band when I first listened to them... I can't stand how whiny the vocalist is. His voice is just aggravating.

I love Chris Conley's vocals.

Heh, touché. It's personal taste, I guess.
I definitely like Saves the Day's music (like the band) better than TBS, so I can deal with the whininess. Besides I'd like to distinguish between nasally (Saves the Day) and whiny (TBS).
Either way, things like this are why I don't plan on reviewing TBS, like ever, as you can see how arbitrary my opinion is.

@xtonin
Because you don't enjoy the band and recognize that's an arbitrary thing. I respect this, a lot. I could never make a review on Daisy or New Again because I hate those two records so much that I'd rather left them alone.
By the way, I'd argue that Adam's voice is nasally too, but obviously I wouldn't say whiny. Check Sad Savior since you're listening to the record. I can't get this song out of my head since the first time I listened the album.
