The wrote some really good songs. I haven't checked out any other full albums. They're definitely worth it though.

Awesome. Will add to the ever growing list.
They always seemed like a one-or-two-off band, so I guess I just assumed they didn't really have any other good songs.
I have been finding out more and more that artists I thought that way about when I was younger have turned out to have some really quality material that I was missing out on.

I totally understand. I find that generally those one hit wonder groups are rare. Usually if a band/artist has a good song or two, they have a good album lying around somewhere lol.

The Disturbed cover of Shout is pretty damn solid

That sounds like a really bad combo, but the guy's a good singer so I guess I could give it a chance lol.

Well, I bought some albums when I was younger where the one hit wonder was the only good song (and streaming was still in the infantile stages so hard to pre listen before purchase) so, I didn't buy a lot of albums that had the one or two songs I heard and liked on the radio after being burned a few times. I have been revisiting stuff as of late since the options are plentiful now and have been pleasantly surprised on several occasions.
I have heard their Sound of Silence cover but I didn't know they did Shout. Youtubes, here I come!

the live portion of Broken sounds so good, it makes me wonder why there are no live albums from their prime era

One of the best slices of music of all time. You literally can't argue with that

head over heels is incredible yeah. one of the best pop songs ever

I can't tell you how many times I've walked into a department store and Heads Over Heels is playing suuuuper softly in the background. Like super low, bro.

I used to go on really late night runs a few years ago (I still do sort of, but I greatly prefer lifting during sane hours). On a couple of occasions, I just had Shout on repeat almost the whole time lol.

The Yamaha DX7 and E-mu Emulator was one hell of a combination back in the 80s. Can't imagine these guys, Depeche Mode, and New Order without it, because it was the sound.
|

The DX7 is one of the greatest sounding synths ever
|

one of the hardest 5s ever, always been surprised by its lack of ratings
