I guess going into it with or without context changes things a lot. I went into PPB completely blind and it never really occurred to me it felt disjointed or anything - actually my main complaint was that it wasn't really diverse enough, because there's one template for the majority of the songs on there, but I def hear it differently to y'all. Trepanning/Paranormal slap hard as fuck and in general the flow for the first half is fine to me, second half loses itself a little bit with Ataraxia but it's still largely good

JR and Caleb's work on PPB is fantastic. Absolutely love Trepanning and Droned

It makes sense that most of you think PPB feels like just a bunch of songs thrown together because it is, but I never thought of it as a negative aspect since I like all the songs.

I’ve had it for about three weeks and I still don’t know how I feel about it exactly. It’s definitely good and it has some amazing songs, but you can absolutely feel how incomplete some of the songs are

https://www.kerrang.com/features/how-cave-in-channelled-loss-into-something-beautiful/ sounds like they're going to continue with Nate from Converge on bass, pretty sweet

Yeah. Intro / title track was the very last thing he played if I'm not mistaken, a hell of a gut punch listening to it

I love how it contrasts with how he unleashes at the end of the closer, it's beautiful

I really wish they’d put Inflatable Dream on the album since it’s been floating around online for years now and has never seen an official release. Would’ve rounded out the album just enough imo

I love the new record. I know it's a bit short / lean but honestly I like that about it, it doesn't waste a second and lends itself to repeat listens well.

Go in chronological order, all their records are very different from each other sonically. Jupiter, UYHS and White Silence are their strongest albums, and the new one is a bit of a Jupiter/PPB/Antenna hodgepodge.
