i think you are misjudging altertide, Toronto bro

i have nothing against him but his reason for averaging this ticked me off a bit. If he gave a legitimate reason for averaging this then i'd be a different story but i suppose i overreacted regarldless.

Toronto, you gave Supertramp a 3.0 , you can't criticize a 2.5 in a Marillion album m8

If altertide is simply saying that he's not overly thrilled by this because it sounds like Genesis but not as good then I think that's a fair basis for forming an opinion on the album.

the 1-5 scale is stupid, because you cant go lower than 1, that means that the opposite of 1 is 4

@smaug wut

@jamie i disagree due to the fact that heavy 70's influence is pretty much a prerequisite for neo-prog. Its like saying you dislike metal because its too heavy. Not really a legitimate argument in my eyes but w/e.

He's not saying they simply have a 70's influence, he's saying they sound particularly like Genesis, which obviously they do. It's can limit a band's appeal if you find them inferior to the band they take the most influence from.
