"Skrillex is only going to get worse"

he "played" a new song at Sasquatch. It was actually really really good and somehow LESS generic than his previous stuff. Might I 3.5 his next album?

I might.

For an artist with two ep's I can stomach him (I think this ep is good) but anymore and he's just going to be beating his one trick pony to death

The problem with this guy is that he can't transition his musical styles. An example would be in the title track: the first 40 seconds are pretty and light sounding but right after the OH MY GOD it gets heavy and although the entire song is good, the two styles don't seem to fit together. They could easily be two separate songs if he wanted to.

Besides reptile's theme, everything he's released since this has just made me -____-. He could make something cool if he did something different but all signs point to more of the same old shit.

u guys i did some traveling recently and hung out with some people who think this is quintessential dubstep and i bit my tongue and just nodded along and they ended up being very nice people, overall.

I recently had a friend find reptiles theme on his own and he ended up getting into skrillex. He recently asked me what makes a song "dubstep" and I gave him some history and played him some benga and distance. He thought they were both really good. It was refreshing- most people who i know that liked skrillex first are unwilling to give the other artists a chance.

I personally don't care what people think of Skrillex, it just bothers me when people start going on about how "this is what dubstep is all about" and "how original he is"

Sonny Moore is boring. Everything he's done is boring. It's slightly better than the average, but it's still boring. Why the fuck can't people see this?

in the grand scheme of all popular music, moore is pretty original... he obviously takes his cues from the big boys, but his mixes all still retain the same character... also he doesn't seem to have a huge ego.

i think im happy enough that i found something both myself and my younger sister can enjoy... seriously the last time that happened was like the marshal mathers lp
