His vox are pretty harsh on the pre-Jane Doe works but not quite as much, except for some choice bits. It can’t hurt to check them out, When Forever Comes Crashing is one of my favorites

I'm sure I'll check one out eventually.

I was with Getlow so hard reading through this thread, it was weird because I really felt myself (almost) cheering them on & then, then... it happened...
They threw shade at Jane Doe.

GetLow i’m confused that you said you can’t stand ETID, but describing what metalcore you like describes them pretty perfectly, haha

ETID are a confusing band for me, I was very much enjoying From Parts Unknown (having previously been a fan of Hot Damn!) & then decided to 'take a break' from it, when I returned it just wasn't the same anymore. Not sure what happened in-between.
@Xing: well I wasn't exactly being serious, haha

It bangs
Oh damn. You don't have Ex Lives or Low Teens rated either. What are you doing, fool?

Are you asking me if I'm a fool?
Yeah fortunately I didn't get around to checking the rest of their discog as I soured on FPU significantly, don't think I even made it through the album last time (& it's very short).

I guess if that soured on you, I could imagine the others not hitting the spot for you either, although I would rank FPU last out of their last four albums.

It's ok because I'll jam again & will probably declare it a masterpiece or something, or maybe a fresh approach (different album) is needed. I have some emotional investment in these guys & actually own 3 of their albums so it would be nice to get into them again.
For a moment I forgot this wasn't an ETID thread, although bizarrely it kind of counts for The Chariot as well, One Wing is enjoyable & I actually like the much maligned 'The Fiance'

yea The Fiance aged well for me much after their breakup I'd say

"GetLow i’m confused that you said you can’t stand ETID, but describing what metalcore you like describes them pretty perfectly, haha"
ETID fits under the obnoxious vocalist category. That's a huge turn off for me. The music itself is okay, but not good enough to where I'm willing to look past the vocals. I'm also not a fan of southern-sounding stuff.

I've always been slightly perplexed by the supposed southern angle with regards to ETID, not sure I hear it. Then again my musical pre-conceptions after that word gets thrown around probably messes with my head a little.

the big dirty certainly has some southern elements, but nothing since then does. also keith is incredible, it sucks you find him obnoxious z one of the best vocalists/lyricists in the genre

"the big dirty certainly has some southern elements, but nothing since then does."
I've listened to Low Teens, and it sounded like it came straight out of Yeehaw County, Texas.

Yeah that opening riff in Fear and Trembling most definitely fits those shoes.
I gotta listen to this still... loved One Wing

you’ll love this then, one wing was kinda more of the same

What? I thought One Wing was way more experimental in sound. That album was all over the place but in the best way possible. I love this, but definitely prefer One Wing.
