"Fade Into (The Ocean)" is far superior to "Fix Me" imo.

With all these highlight songs being mentioned, people who haven't heard the album will think we've all under-rated it.

You've got a point there, I do believe that it would be hard to rate it higher than we've given it in all honesty though; there are highlights yes but the album still has its shortcomings. All this praise is far after it's initial release as well, it took a while for this to grow on me.

Shoot it out has really grown on me over the past couple of weeks. It is amazing how it has polarized 10 Years fans. My favorite tracks from the album

1. Fade Into The Ocean

2. Shoot it Out

3. Don't fight it

4. Fix Me

5. One More Day

Funny thing is that the rest of the tracks sound almost exactly the same to me which is kind of strange. Even after several listens when a song starts I am not really able to tell which is which. Anyone else get this?

I don't think so, but Davey is a better judge than I (basing it off the fact that I didn't like The Autumn Effect but liked this).

To a certain extent benkim, I think you are right. If I had not of heard the album as much as I did (for reviewing purposes), then I can see how one would think that.

Detriment, this album is much more straight-forward than 'The Autumn Effect'. They play around less with dynamics, structure & atmosphere here.

Album just lacked the moody atmosphere that got me into 10 Years in the first place and sounded a little too nu-metalish for me. TAE was a damn awesome record. I have it rated at 4.5.

I liked the singles released from it, and "Half Life" was downright awesome however the others just failed to stick with me.

Acanthus: I thought TAE was an album that you really had to get the vibe of the album to love it. Should also be listened to as a whole.

I normally don't skip around on my albums, just listen through them straight through. TAE was just too laid back, the "vibe" as you put it never grabbed hold and said "Hey! stay awhile!"

Yeah, sometimes a person can't get into that "vibe". That's fair enough. I struggle with some prog or folk albums because of the same thing. To each their own.
