So far, "Minerva"-"Battle Axe", this is a solid 4.

no song from this except hexagram would i
put in their top 20 tracks, and even
hexagram was almost ruined by the sub-
adrenaline vocals "worship play play"
they stretch it out so long...but the
rest of the track is perfect

Never understand (besides its juxtaposition to White Pony) the shit this album takes. I only have an issue with "Moana", as after that foreboding intro, it's a terribly boring song. Everything else is diverse, and ace if you ask me

This baby's loaded with heavy and melodic jams. Pretty cryptic, chilling stuff; definitely Deftones most wintry sounding album if I had to apply pointless, seasonal aesthetical attachments to it

Seriously can't relate to people thinking Diamond Eyes or Koi no Yokan are great, at least on that front. Both feel like they are trying too hard to be jun junz when we all know their strong suit is the inventive stuff. Idk, this one is pretty damn good.

Yeah agree, this was the bands last decent album in my opinion. It does also set itself apart from the rest of their work (prior to this) in the way that it hits moments of poetic sentiment, while there's still some classic crunchy tones jams like 'When Girls Telephone Boys' which keep it sprightly. By the end of this album i feel sort of emotionally exhausted actually. It's quite a ride, and an underrated one

"This baby's loaded with heavy and melodic jams. Pretty cryptic, chilling stuff"
Pretty fitting description of the sound of this album
And interesting as far as cold 'wintry sounding' goes, i'd think 'White Pony' fits that bill. But then again, the feeling here is also cold, more detatched, and sometimes bleak in atmosphere, but whilst sounding richer and warmer instrumentally compared to Pony.

Maybe 2 songs are sub par (Lucky You and Moana)...the rest rules.
