For me it's just more campy than a tent and some s'mores over an open fire in the woods. Their old old stuff is great. Glad Lucifugum stopped associating with these idiots once they got all white power.

I love Darkthrone and Burzum but can't stand how every other black metal band insists on having horrific production because of them. This is the only NM album that I really enjoy listening to because on their other shit, the guitars are barely fucking audible, the keyboards are way too over the top (and yet still sound like they were played on Casios), and the sound quality is about as good as the recordings on my shitty old cell phone. There's a difference between raw "bad" production (like on Filosofem or Transilvanian Hunger) that helps achieve a certain atmosphere, and production rendering otherwise decent music almost completely unlistenable (like on NeChrist).
