"Cross The River On Your Own is the best closer since Comforting Sounds. Can't wait to give the record a proper listen tonight."

I love Mew. They're one of the most creative bands in existence right now. But "Satellites" is an absolute train-wreck of a production. The live version was beautiful and restrained, and I couldn't wait for the studio version to perfect that atmosphere and stripped-back beauty. The studio version overproduced garbage. I hope the rest of the album has more restraint (famous last words). Listening to the second track now.

All the instruments are turned up to 11 constantly, fighting each other and it's giving me a headache. I could maybe enjoy the new album if I listened to it quietly as some pop music to fill out the background.

I'm planning on finishing mine when I get back home tomorrow, but it's hard to digest the alb, especially with Rows being 11 minutes long.

It's definitely not as good as this album and it's not as memorable, but I wouldn't go as far as saying that it pales in comparison to this.

i don't know if it's the production or what but everything sounds very samey and it's just nowhere near as catchy and creative as this one imo

the new one has some real cringeworthy stuff but luckily the last two songs are there to partially save it

To me, Frengers is a 5. Glass Handed a 4.5. This a 4. So I'm guessing the new one will be a 3.5. But then again, Johan is back. So I dunno. And the songs sounded good when I saw them performed live half a year ago

None of the new tracks are all that memorable. There's nothing wrong with them, but there's nothing I'm pining to come back to. I still like it though.

Eh, I think I'm feeling a 3.5 on it.

It's the weakest since the pre-Frengers records for sure, but it's still enjoyable.

I just can't see it growing all that much where it's mostly straightforward, and I can't see myself wanting to listen to it before I would this, ATGHK, and Frengers.

Still jam to this all the time. Pretty sure Repeaterbeater will never get old. I find this to be their most enjoyable album

Yeah me too, though I think I do slightly prefer Frengers to this, I find myself playing this one a lot more often.
