I love converge, they’re literally my favorite band… it’s no comparison this band is filthier, heavier, and honestly more chaotic at a lot of points. But this band would literally not exist without converge imo

Idk what it is man, Cult Leader isn’t bad, and I do enjoy their records. But they just don’t have shit on any Gaza record, even He Is Never Coming Back which is for sure the weakest link

No absolutes featured melodic breaks in a lot of tracks and less batshit insane mathcore (methcore?) and cult leader continue that trajectory altho their latest tracks were ferocious so who knows what’s next



Also as far as I know there’s no offical statement about the rape allegations, they were retracted and the details seemed suspicious but it doesn’t 100% mean he’s guiltless of everything, apparently he was known for being a bit of a sleaze and a cunt to work with



He did vocals on that bird eater album in 2014 though, cool stuff but not on par with Gaza or CL

I agree with you, Wildcard! Cult Leader is definitely solid but they pale in comparison to Gaza. I also wasn't exactly thrilled with their last album. The new singles for their upcoming work are promising though but I have no heard any album release date yet
