only thing i agree with is the vocals. the riffs are catchy, instrumentation is tight, and theyre fun to listen to

Nobody is forcing anyone to like them. But the popularity of the band is forced on fans of metal through magazine, radio, web etc.
They're marketed to the masses, while many more talented and ground-breaking artists must push their music without support.
That is generally how generic and or pop artists gain popularity and why the independent scene of pretty much every genre, seems to be where all the good music has always been hidden.
