the orchestrated sections are overblown and piss me off
That's the point.

I'll take your word for it poet, the allure of Turis for me is that I can listen to and enjoy it without constantly being reminded of the symphonic/folk/whatever elements...I'm able to listen to it and just enjoy it as good, heavy, almost universal music..... I can't say the same of Sagas
edit: Kill I'm surprised how often I share your opinion considering our musical tastes seldom overlap

that said, Blut im Auge is pretty kick ass, Die Weide und der Fluß is also brilliance
Just reading this comment from ikarus on page 23, couldn't help notice his spelling of "Fluß". To my knowledge, the German 1980s spelling reform dictates that it is now spelled "Fluss". The more traditional "sz" (or "ß") is now only used after a long vowel, such as in "Scheiße" (German for "shit", by the way). Yes I'm an anal bastard!

Well, it was kinda supposed to be a joke. Having said that, wouldn't you be at least a bit annoyed if someone spelt it "Lost Horyzon" or something?

My brother wanted to name his band Equilibrium. Made me do all this fancy shit on photoshop all for nothing.

Concerning the Nightwish comparisons in the early pages, this totally blows away Dark Passion Play and Once. The earlier Nightwish albums were far better than DPP and Once.
But this is in another league entirely. Fantastic album, one of the best I've ever heard.
I can't believe these guys are known as a poser band. Frankly, I don't give a shit.

Just listened to this again after a few months without hearing it. No change in rating.
I'm ambivalent about the line-up changes. I think I liked the old vocals a little more. The important thing is that the dude who writes the sick keyboards is still in the band. If he ever leaves, no more Equilibrium.

http://www.emp.de/bin/shop.php?prog=shop&article=169721&funktion=PRODUCTINFO - Have to say Sagas had better art but this is still pretty good, given the type of music it goes with. 18th June, bitches.
