Im not sure why this album got so much hate from sputnikers.. It's totally awesome. Sure it has some random ass filler but who cares, the longer songs are mad. Horse Hunter & Milk Lizard are excellent.

What is so wrong with this album, I think it's great. Not as good as their other stuff, but why so much hate? Miss Machine sucks, now I'll go eat a grape.

"well the lyrics are better,"

guess i can maybe understand that, they're still great on OP though

"the drums groovier,"

ok

"the vocals are better,"

lolwut the vox sound like shit for like half this album

"it has mouths of ghosts,"

OP has Widower.

"its not as over produced,"

Yeah, it's underproduced, which isn't any better

"and its called ire works"

it is a cool title, i'll admit

"in all honesty greg is dep."

as much as I admire Greg, this statement is hilariously false.

"some of them are so fucking awful"

examples?

"he doesn't strain himself trying to pull ridiculous cheesy melodies that he can't properly execute tho"

"example 1: YOU'RE JUST ANOTHER FACE IN THE CROWD

I THROW MYSELF ONTO YOU

example 2: see above"

hahaha ok, i mean, i wouldn't call those 'awful,' but i can see where you're coming from.

"people listen to DEP because of the music, not for greg, i think thats fairly apparent considering the nature of their music"

Exactly, that, along with the fact that the other musicians in the band, Ben especially, deserve probably even more credit than Greg for giving the band the sound that they have

to be honest, i reckon the weakest parts of this album are the more traditional ones like fix your face and lurch, it just feels like they shoe-horned them in for old time's sake instead of going for a totally new sound. plus they don't measure up to the stylistically similar stuff on the first two albums anyway

It's too bad I could never give this album a five because of Black Bubblegum. I actually think without it, this is definitely their best work. All the ideas on here just work in their favor.
