I've been to their shows many times. I'm actually friends with the band. I know what to expect in their shows. Awesomeness; that and I know likely what the setlist would have.



and there's a good reason why they have that rep. you should know what the reason is.

The ambience is part of their live shows, they've been doing that for a while now, and if you can't appreciate the ambience, then I don't know. I can understand your reasons to not liking it though, my wife had the same problem at first.

5 also means that an album has alot of impact to you, which this did, and many of their other releases. It's a genre hard to get a fresh sound in, and they do it again and again, why shouldn't I 5? Starting listening to music from a new perspective thanks to Neurosis, that should be a 5 worth alone. Ratings are subjective to me, it's more of like how important they are to me.

Hah, no I didn't realize. Yeah, I would like it on a different day. Still blame it on Ufomammut, full set of headbanging, way heavier than on album. If they're around in your town, check them out. But yeah, adapting to Neurosis after that was too hard I think, as most of their set was ambience.
