imo FII is still better than this, because ata least it's not extremely generic and formulaic. If this had been released right after Scenes for example, it would have been groundbreaking for DT, but after 3 albums that share a lot of great but generic ideas, SC is just a very bland album. Of course, even if it had been released after Scenes, it would still have been uninspired, but it would have been a lot more interesting. FII is, despite its flaws, a great album

I mean I guess I can find some guilty pleasure in Hollow Years maybe but the rest of it is shit. Burning My Soul, You Not Me, Just Let Me Breathe, Anally and Take Away My Pain ugh

Peruvian Skies is a top 10 DT song, New Millenium, Lines in the Sand, Trial of Tears, Hell's Kitchen, Hollow Years and Just Let Me Breathe are all good songs, and some even succeed in being catchy. But yeah then there's the other songs. However, have you ever heard the FII Demos? Listening to it you'll realize how good it could've been, with Raise the Knife (another top 10 DT song definitely) and Metropolis PT. 2 the song. But I consolate myself about FII thinking that Scenes would have never existed if they hadn't done FII, because Metropolis Pt. 2 was supposed to be on it

Anally....

FII is definitely better and more interesting at least, even if it doesn't fully come off right

Hell's Kitchen/Lines in the Sand is probably my favourite non-I&W and Awake DT song.

It's a shame that Raise the Knife didn't get its place in the album, because it's really a top 5 DT song imo

King's X vocalist appearance on Lines in the Sand ruins the song for me

Even with its flaws FII is still in the better half of DT's discog.

If the bad songs on FII didn't suck so much and there weren't so many of them it might barely crack the top 5
