I had a similar feeling. If you listen to White Pony, Diamond Eyes, then Ohms, it kind of works. It's a weird progression, but it fits.

Never thought of that! Deftones are the only band from that era that I've loved from the jump and continued to follow and enjoy. Shit, I still have an old demo tape of theirs. I should put it in a frame, or something.

I don't think Ohms has much in common with White Pony. This sounds like Deftones took the best elements of SNW/DE/KNY and made an album out of it. IMO, they never made another album that sounds just like White Pony.

Seems like we'll be getting that Black Stallion record this year too. Hyped for that now haha

Yeah I can definitely hear S/T, SNW and KNY elements on here more than any of their other albums

I could see TSOM fitting on White Pony with a few tweaks. The chorus brings the same kind of haunting vibe Change does.

Forgot to mention, S/T influence here too primarily from Chino's vocals. This Link Is Dead has massive When Girls Telephone Boys vibes.

Tronald, it's a progression. There will never be another White Pony. This whole thread is the house Deftones built. Ohms is chunkier, more bass, more dropped tuning, more timing changes... Honestly what's to hate?

It's been 6 days and I love this just as much as I loved it the first day.

There's nothing to hate, I'm really happy that this band never tried to replicate their magnum opus. That's primarily why I wanted to point out my opinion that this doesn't share much with WP.

After about 10 listens, Ohms is a different animal. I love it, really love it. I'm missing the equivalent to Digital Bath. It feels like it should have that. Still a 5.

Ceremony has been growing on me recently
There’s a part in it that sounds so similar to a part in Change

great album to eat burrito bowls in your car with your head on the steering wheel while you contemplate your cognitive dissonance towards love and any other positive emotion to

Was listening to this in the car today as well as White Pony and gotta say even with shitty kenwoods it was still a lot of fun.
