Perfect album but for the funeral portrait which just sucks. Tt is definitely top tier ‘peth.

I think Funeral Portrait is underrated. Harvest is the one that sucks. It should have been half as long.

Damnation is their best non-metal album

Agreed
Also every song on here is amazing including Funeral, Harvest, and Dirge. Those are probably my bottom 3 though, aside from Patterns, which doesn't really count.

Don't agree, Heritage is far better.

Always really enjoyed funeral but I agree on harvest being a bit too long

Yeah it could have been very nice, but it just drags unnecessarily.

Heritage is more fun and dynamic than Damnation, and more impressive on a technical level, but I slightly prefer Damnation to it just for the amazing, consistent atmosphere and emotional resonance.

Completely agree with talons. It's also just more well written in general. Heritage is kind of all over the place. Damnation sounds more focused and sounds comfortably like an opeth album
