“These guys are probably one of my favorite bands right now. This is just rubbish tho. There's no bite. No intensity.”

1's on any album with an ave above 2.5 should really just be ignored. They are there to get a rise out of you.

Lol this is album straddles that line between brutal and beautiful amazingly, with just purely great songwriting the whole way through. Someone that has an ear for death metal and listens to it often being able to think this record is pure garbage (eg. a 1) is just too far from the mark. It's like loving Martin Scorsese and saying Goodfellas was a piece of crap. It don't make sense.

I mean it's not the best movie ever made by any means, but it is definitely great. And again, definitely not a piece of crap, however overrated.

IMO Casino crushes it, along with several others in the genre.

It's quite good - just a bit overrated methinks.

"Gangster movies come from a primitive age"

First of all, Scorsese dropped the Irishman last year and it was a complete bop. Secondly, mob/gang/gangster flicks have never stopped coming out. As long as there's crime in the world, there will be a decent story to tell in that medium. Same way that romance will always be relevant as long as people fall in love/fuck.

"this is an aggressively bad take"

One would think that when a record is universally praised, one would be able to see the merit in that release even if it doesn't resonate the same with them.

I wanted this to click with me for the long haul but it just never happened. I even preordered the shirt for the album which was also disappointing since the neckhole was too small and the artwork was faded. And I prefer Casino to Goodfellas, but Casino vs. The Departed is a real tough call.

lol It's exceedingly hard to fathom how this could've disappointed you that badly. Like this is my favorite Ulcerate drop since Everything is Fire.

But yeah, The Departed is AMAZING. That said I still haven't seen Casino, I just saw Goodfellas last year though.

Didn't like The Irishman at all. It's a movie about morons doing moronic things, for hours.
