The Black Gives Way to Blue cover was incredible. There were a few really interesting takes on some of their songs.

Yeah, the cover of Them Bones is an instant classic because Fishbone somehow both stay true to the original AND make it completely their own. I mean, how do you make a 7/8 groove funky?!

Metallica's Would?, Mastodon's Again and the cover of Rain When I Die were all good takes too, though I wouldn't consider them essential. I'm impressed by Metallica taking risks with it.

What gets me about Korn is for a band with such a unique and patented sound, all their covers come out so bland and by the numbers. You'd hardly be able to tell Davis was performing that song with the rest of Korn without the video showing you, sounds like it could be literally any group of musicians backing him.

Korn's cover of Cameo's Word Up is pretty legit and they did a surprisingly good job with Devil Went Down to Georgia. It's hard to tackle AiC and pull it off though if you're anything less than an excellent vocalist. That's why I'm amazed at that Fishbone cover and how good it is. The only thing that comes close is Opeth's Would cover back in the day. Code Orange's cover is decent but they don't have the vocal chops to really push it over the top.

You know when you have a dream where you try and run away from something but you move really slowly like you're underwater? That's what the riffs on this album feel like.

wiggabigpenis11 wanted to sound witty and sharp when he posted this comparison but he actually came across as a nonsensical tweaker
