I dunno, this is such a downfall from Ghost Reveries which destroys this. It's not as boring as heritage and on but it's their most boring release with death metal growling

I'll agree, far less compelling than Ghost Reveries. Interestingly, this was the first Opeth album I heard, and even as a newcomer I found myself saying "it's good, really good actually, maybe even great, but I feel like they're holding something back." Still a huge fan of "Hessian Peel" and "The Lotus Eater" though.
