I had my issues with DE but it grew on me for the most part.
I think what I don't like DE is the pattern that most songs have of "dreamy or emotional verse-chorus-verse structure" but the outro is overly brutal. Like trying to show that they have not lost their agression, I feel that's stupid, you can make a song like hexagram without that weird mixture.

man imo they've never made a flat out bad album, yet they've made very stylistically different ones - Adrenaline, SNW and S/T are almost nothing alike but they have that intrinsic deftones sound and to me, they all kick ass. point is I've yet to be disappointed by them - they've tried different things and as long as the "different" formulae have that deftones vibe, I cant lose faith in em

I’d say DE is better than those two as well...though only very slightly better than KNY. KNY has three of their best songs — Leathers, Tempest and Rosemary — so it’s twmpt to give it the edge. But overall DE wins. I like Gore quite a bit — 3.5 — but it’s def their second worst album.
