I also totally disagree about the quality of the guitar tones. They’re recorded well enough that it’s just preference and it suits mine. Not like the high presence ice picks recorded on the blackening that I had the misfortune of listening to again recently.

Conversely 10K days mixed in an Uberschall and a Rivera Knucklehead to Jones usual Superbass/VH4/Recto or Superbass/VH4/VH4 blends and I think the added gain and presence really takes away from the subtlety and expression of his playing. Just not my preference
