man it's cool to hear something that was so clearly ahead of it's time and inspired so much progressive metal i've loved for so long. especially the slower melodic parts. this is where they got it from! the vocoder vocals are obviously the breaking point for most here but man after a few listens i can't help but like them. they really add to the spacey free flowing atmosphere so much. tasteful use of keys also helps. this album just feels so effortlessly made. textures is just jawdroppingly beautiful and makes me feel like floating away.
it's such a great combination and blend of tech death, prog and jazz. somewhat unpredictable in the shifts but it flows so well and is so cohesive. veil of maya is also goated prob the best complete package on here. kind of wish there were more female vox here, worked so well on that one. really dig i'm but a wave, the eagle nature and how could i as well. extremely curious about the next one and excited to listen!
