its not my fault your generic-ass no-name brand ears can't comprehend something being 'focused' without sounding utterly homogenous, that's a you problem.

I think Bjork's Post is focused and stylistically that album is all over the place

It's straight to the point, they obv went into the studio knowing EXACTLY what they were creating.

The first half of this album is incredibly focused on rhythm. The second half is focused on a more ambient sound. Does that mean the album overall is focused, when it has such a marked shift halfway?

Only Radiohead albums that come off as unfocused are Hail to the Thief and a Moon Shaped Pool, yeah

Even then, on Hail the songs themselves are focused... it's just the tracklisting is awkward

Obnoxious nonsense? Sounds like a compliment! :D (consiering checking Post now)

A number of songs on HttT feel like they lack direction to me.

"'The first half of this album is incredibly focused on rhythm. The second half is focused on a more ambient sound. Does that mean the album overall is focused, when it has such a marked shift halfway?"

well considering this observation is entirely false, yes.
'ambience' and atmosphere are just as key as percussion throughout the whole album. and lotus flower and separator are just as rhythmically promiscuous as the first half of the album. codex and give up the ghost are the only two that aren't. the reason they happen to be together in the middle of the last half of the album is because there are people who understand dynamics and realize AMSP is a complete mess.

HttT is a throw-together of all their styles from previous albums. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't,

The layers of percussion on Lotus Flower and Separator aren't nearly as dense as on the first half of the album, don't be a moron

Also "the reason they happen to be together in the middle of the last half of the album is because there are people who understand dynamics and realize AMSP is a complete mess"

what could that sentence possibly mean
