I think it's a pride thing for him but idk. He really regretted giving in on this album and as a result isn't very fond of it. Plus it probably brings back so many bad memories, this was the darkest period in the band's history.

Yeah I think the main reason they don’t play tracks off of this and self titled is because they bring back too many bad memories.



Luckily I saw Deftones on the SNW tour cycle so I got to see all these songs live. Cherry Waves was amazing.

I remember the time I had to discover bands on my own, because mtv and much music weren't digging into new bands back in the day. At least, deftones videos were never broadcasted in our Latin American version of MTV. Ironically, staind videos were heavily promoted, yet the band is not popular in our country.

I liked the song Prayers/Triangles best from that record which seems most people disliked the most. Fuck me.



Also, I'm interested in their next record as Chino said that he's not happy with Stephen not bringing as much to the table on Gore. So he's going to go to his house and write with him. And Stef is the metalhead of the band so we may get a heavier record.

Yeah a more metal record wouldn’t surprise me, Chino had that solo song that sounds like it could’ve been ripped straight from Around the Fur too. Whatever it is, it’ll be good. Deftones are one of the few bands I have complete faith in.
