@Decapitated, I interpreted the lyrics of that song as people talking shit online (I assumed it had to do with the false allegations against them, but idk tbf). I didn't get right-wing vibes from it. Can't speak for the rest of the album though, and naturally my interpretation could be wrong.
But their first few albums still rip. At least they aren't Pestilence. I really wish I could go back in time and never have seen Patrick Mameli's posts on Facebook, but unfortunately I can't unsee that lol.
Also, @missing albums on streaming, can't you guys just upload them from a download or rip directly to your phones and add them to your library on Spotify or Apple or w/e? Or is that not a thing? I don't stream other than like checking YT for new singles and shit so idk

I'd use Tidal if I streamed.
I've built a solid collection of albums over the years, and I just rip them myself. So I just put it all on my phone and listen with Pulsar. Plus, that way I don't have to worry about albums not being there, especially when it comes to some of the more rare stuff out there.

"I didn't get right-wing vibes from it"
cancel culture isn't really something leftists complain about
re: solid collection
yeah fair, I've got tens of thousands of dollars worth of downloaded and ripped music so I'm kinda sad it only lives on my iPod now

I'm aware that "cancer culture" is just play on words for "cancel culture", so I don't doubt the album itself is probably right wing stuff. On the flipside, I could see someone using a phrase like 'cancer culture' to be ironic or something. Not saying they did that, but I can kinda see it going both ways.
But I just meant that the lyrics to that particular song don't read like a right-wing rant to me. Haven't heard the entire album so I can't speak to it obv, but I thought the song was about the allegations, especially with lines like "Comments like convictions". Seems like it's referencing the court of public opinion, especially social media, where people are gonna presume guilt even if dismissed or acquitted etc. But idk, I mean the lyrics aren't exactly well-written so lol

Don’t use tidal, not a big jayz fan personally, i’m at a point in life were downloading and adding music to a music player app is kind of too much effort

@hexfix93 hold on. What did Patrick Mameli say on facebook? I only know he said some things about corona and phone/social media usage (I agreed with him on that btw). I just hope he didn't say some stupid shit now...
PS: Ok, I just saw he endorsed some Trump shit...

Just buy from bandcamp or rip the cds boyz c'mon, it's not that hard (I use dbpoweramp). If I like an album very much on streaming (bandcamp, youtube, etc...) I try to make the effort. I know it's not always possible but I think it's the best way to support the artists (correct me if I'm wrong)

i watch a ton of youtube anyway so paying for premium to get youtube music as a bonus is pretty much a given, i dont really care about audiophilic shit like flac these days, mp3 is plenty enough for my hi-fi system, headphones and tortured ears.

honestly I also don't really care beyond 320, I just cite it first to try and convert the audio nerds to the musician-friendly streaming service

I own like 600 CDs and 50 vinyls and a 1TB mp3/flac library so i can always fall back to that if streaming sucks, its just more convenient to use youtube music most of the time.
Also I still don't fully understand why someone complaining about cancel culture automatically has to be right wing. I would like to believe that its not quite that black and white even if our current media landscape seems to indicate that there are only two large camps and if any disagreement within a camp exists there has to be an exorcism.

decapitated had anti q-anon and anti-antivaxxer lyrics on Cancer Culture
"so proud to discover
wicked plans of deep state
cracked all their ciphers
connected, connected the dots
no cure for conspiracy
no vax for illiteracy
highly contagious"
also their comment on the accusations back then:
"Accusations related to any kind of abuse or assault should always be taken seriously. Sexual harassment does happen and it is horrible.
But false accusations do also happen and can also very easily and rapidly destroy lives, relationships and careers. Unfortunately, we experienced this first hand and this keeps chasing us to this very day. It is very unfortunate and disrespectful that some people are trying to take this away from real survivors of abuse."
they don't feel reactionary or right wing to me.

Adding to this they had Robb Flynn on the album, a very outspoken left wing guy.

Perhaps I have....misjudged....
But ok there are a couple of different things at play here. If they've been proven innocent it's truly unfortunate that it's negatively affected them like that.
But I also do feel like the vast majority of people who complain about cancel culture are right wingers. If this album isn't about that by and large and is more about their struggle with false accusations, that's something different imo

The album title just paints a certain picture, and it makes it look like they're lumping themselves in with fox news talking heads who have anti-cancel culture talking points on their quote-unquote news shows. As u can see I am not the only person to make this assumption.
If this album is about something besides actually just bitching about cancel culture, they didn't do themselves any favors with the title

probably true
"If this album is about something besides actually just bitching about cancel culture, they didn't do themselves any favors with the title"
yeah its definitely never a good move to throw yourself this blatantly into the culture war, it always comes off as cringe at best and will probably be misconstrued or misunderstood at worst. i sense a severe lack of awareness in that aspect with them.

Most of that garbage exists solely on the internet too, log off and poof! Oh look people aren't really outraged and screaming memes at each other in the streets.
