I think nostalgia plays a big role in my enjoyment of the cleans here, but this is my favorite instrumentally for sure. For lack of a more technical term I'd say this album has a "feeling" that I have yet to encounter elsewhere.

I'd probably rank their stuff the same as Jay.

I can give Salmanir a pass bc this deserves the ahrdest 5 ever, especially for nostalgic value. That being said though, what a pointless track.

salmarnir is redeemed by the way it fuckin magnificently segues into the start of returning empty handed. one of the most exhilarating transitions ive ever heard

Salmarnir's not pointless, it gives you a break from the chaos for a few minutes (something any good album of this nature should be able to do...what's next? Driftwood was pointless? I doubt any of you are gonna say that) and like Onion said, it segues PERFECTLY into Returning Empty Handed.

People probably wouldn't complain about it if it didn't have the spoken word and crowd noises but they don't bother me at all

it's a nice slowdown period, maybe not the most eventful but i definitely think it works to cool things down. if i'd cut a song, Everything Looks So Good From Here would get the cut before Salmarnir
