Really? I mean the star wars stories aren't flawless, but the story here seems pretty cookie cutter sci fi to me. Very enjoyable nonetheless

Sorry if that came across as insulting, I do of course love the story, if you read a few pages earlier I said I found the conclusion quite moving. And of course the imagery, lyrical ties and linking metaphors throughout the record are fantastic. I still maintain however that the story itself, whilst obviously very enjoyable, retraces alot of well trodden ground for sci fi (immortality, covert and violent paternalism, and ties it in to reality to get across a relevant message).
