its really hard to imagine what could have been or would have been and any historian will tell you as much
i think the albums are good enough as they are, and the more you pay attention to them esp as a musician the more you realise there were a lot of subtleties in there that few metal bands managed to pull off

His drumming has always interested me. It's not traditional and that's one of the reasons that makes them great. His fills and improvisations were so important to their sound. I'm so bored by their 80's contemporaries' high hat and snare marathons
