Welcome to the first world epidemic

Lmao if first world depression is like this, imagine the mental state of the average poverty victim in the third world. It's kinda nuts.
Also I definite feel like the best way to address traumas is honestly realizing them and talking them out. Obviously prescriptions are there to assist, but they never could, should, or will do all the work.

"Manic depression and bipolar disorder are the same thing"
in a lot of ways, yeah. but even in your highs and lows, there are still even more highs and lows. i.e. experiencing symptoms of mania while simultaneously being depressed as shit. peaks are just substantially higher/lower

i'm not refuting that there are different degrees, of bpd, i'm just saying manic depression and bpd are synonymous. manic depression is just an older term for bpd.

so u can be depressed but not bpd, but you can't be bpd without being depressed

I mean they used to lump the shit in with schizophrenia. It’s gotten more specific with time. I think the term manic depression is just an outdated term for bipolar disorder. Manic depression just sounds cooler because Jimi Hendrix wrote a song about it.

Quicksand has an album called manic depression so it’s the cooler term

"so u can be depressed but not bpd, but you can't be bpd without being depressed"
thats probably why they changed the name from manic depression to bipolar disorder. you can have bpd and not be depressed, but the different types of bipolar disorder are usually partially measured by the duration of types of episodes of depression you've experienced within a period of time, so it is a defining factor, and most people with bpd experience some form of depression as part of their cycle. the other major factors being your hypomanic and manic episodes or symptoms.

Fucking love that dog.
Makes me smile every time.

but i mean you can also have MDD and not be depressed as that is an episodic illness as well so yeah i mean unless you are getting really semantic it's probably fair to say all people with bpd b depressed as bpd is considered a type of depression
