This album has more 4.5 and 5s than other albums total reviews. But it's a bad album lol it's the fucking aoty guys.

That doesn't say too much though qwenta, since it also has waayyy more 1.0s, 1.5s, 2.0s and 2.5. It's just a bigger release by a more well-known band.

you guys are the reason why this is the one true AOTY...you could let it shade out...yet here you are.

I'll maybe give this an edge over the new LDR, but need to revisit that. Also maybe Shiina Ringo (nothing more painful than putting a terrible album from an artist you love below a terrible one from an artist you mildly dislike...)
On a side note drafted 2/3rds of a Peppa Pig review that revolved entirely around deconstructing the title, but think that ship has sailed now :[

I 'prefer' this to Holly Herndon, Ligua Ignota, Car Bomb, King Gizzard, 100 Gecs, Secret Band, Xiu Xiu, Kaiser Chiefs and maybe a few others such as Slipknot, Warforged, Bat for Lashes, Disillusion (pains me to say it). More than I expected tbh.

You just started on Lateralus this year as far as I'm concerned (I can be confusing users tho), yet I never took you for a thread bully. Considering you have an "exquisite" taste for some of your music, you could respect that the musical taste for this is at least debatable, just not your thing. Oh yeah I mean everything here including my shitposting is just opinion - same goes for the albums I rate positively. I can obvs substantiate on the reasons I hate this instead of shitposting as per the register of the thread, but I do get why it does the trick for fans of the band (and I dig bits of Lat and Aenima enough to get their broader appeal) - took all this as read but apologies if it seemed snarky. Digging this album is cool in my book, although Tool absolutism and hagiography are another story ;]
