why didnt the raiders draft him or rattler last year? I get that neither will likely amount to anything in the NFL but to be in the raiders' dire qb situation and not at least take a flier on either was ridiculous to me. I will say that while milton had a nice showing it just reminded me of that one single great Jarett Stidham performance against the niners. people were ready to hand him the keys to the organization after that. the raiders have made a glutton of stupid choices but their next coach/brady will dictate our next qb and for some reason I don't think either will land on Darnold. Cousins/Rodgers is far more likely in a Russell Wilson/steelers style deal.

I was just talking to my brother about this last night. I was pissed at the thought of keeping ap but he reminded me how fucked we are either way. ap's issue was the same as Mayo's- in over his head but couldn't lose when it mattered and he ultimately lost his job. though who better to bring back in what will surely be another lost season? that is to say, we aren't winning anything next year anyway so why bother getting a new coach? there are no great options out there at qb, our secondary and lb corps are miserable, we have no rb, 1 decent receiver, and a patchwork o-line. this is not an attractive job and isn't likely to result in a splash hire. if the browns didn't have Watson I would say the raiders are truly the worst/most hopeless franchise in the NFL.

yeah why the raiders didn't take a flier is beyond me. and yeah there are always guys who have a good game but milton is just literally built different lol. he was always the every tool guy who could never put it together, he might have the strongest arm in nfl history up there with your boy jamarcus lmao. but really milton sunday looked the part with some coaching and was doing things he wasn't in college like throwing short with touch and not rifling everything plus he was actually accurate which was his biggest knock. he showed really great pocket presence behind that dogshit pats o-line too. those mechanics are nice too such a quick release on that bazooka arm he's got, opens up so much. he was even good in preseason where a lot of those raw dev guys are unplayably bad even then. get him a real offensive mind and work with him. this years class is horrible and getting a washed vet does nothing. tank for the real class next year if he doesn't work. this is a year to take the lottery ticket that is joe milton for cheap too! he's just such a unique talent, always rooting for him even if it's a longshot.

but yeah totally feel you on the coach. just a miserable job with no hope in sight. next year is gonna be brutal, gotta find a guy you are committed too. seeing flores linked already is worrying. monken is a great candidate not getting enough good buzz so maybe snag him. maybe vrabel but seems like pats are for sure getting him. horrible year for head coaching openings though with all jobs having mega issues so you will get someone decent i think. honestly pete carroll for a few years wouldn't be the worst for ya'll. i think i'd dig that as a raiders fan lol. need a tone and culture setter since the talent ain't there. ap kinda was but literally everyone knew he was gonna bomb lmao
