Graduation has some of his best songs, but also some of his worst songs. Good Morning is still one of my favorite album openers ever, I really love the "woos" in the chorus.

only track i really take issue with on Graduation is "Drunk & Hot Girls"

that shit is fucking bad

and maybe the Chris Martin track, if only because i don't really feel like hearing Chris Martin at that point in time

Can't ever fully get into this, just not sure what people get from the production style. "I Am A God" and "Hold My Liquor" are just mush to me

not to mention this album has probably the most interesting production of the decade i dont know how one could find it uninteresting even if they didnt like it honestly, like what can you compare it to

This is like a better produced Death Grips album with less bite to it.

Clearly inspired by DG tho. Like Kanye heard The Money Store and tried to emulate it instrumentally.

I just can't help but think that Kanye is a melody guy and this album is playing against his strengths. It's a unique product within the hip-hop climate but I don't like him in this mode of withholding sonic pleasure, which makes the consistent lyrical ploy of like "fuck you I am a god this is all I have to offer etc." harder to take. It's not a bad album though; part of me wishes he had gone even further on the harshness if he's gonna go this way

"This album sounds more anxious than harsh, like "delusional grandeur" as the masking of intense insecurities that he somehow barely even tries to conceal."

That makes sense, but I suppose it's a point at which I can't follow along with the concept, can barely detect what's under the grandeur, like it's too convincing--until "Bound 2," which of course is just brilliant sequencing. Probably just an aesthete problem; need anxiety to sound like "Addiction". Not sure how to evaluate The Life of Pablo along these lines except that he's integrated all these elements and is back to melody and raps some too.

Sort of seems like the misinterpretation is the "right" interpretation--that's where he wants you to be
