'The most easy-listening metal album I've encountered'
It's a very 'easy' listen due to general awesomeness, but I don't think that's what you meant so... what? Maybe stick the word 'extreme' in there and it might make a tiny smidgen of sense, otherwise that's just categorically wrong. It's wrong regardless, but hey ho.
Very happy with that 5.0 DDD, one of the best albums ever (if not the best).

This, the previous and GR are my faves. But their discog is drenched with absolute strong 4.5s of mine.

This was the first dive into the bands material a few years ago when this was recommended by a work colleague so I went out and bought it. I liked it a lot but didn’t listen to it much and felt it was a bit of a mush and wasn’t a particularly engaging listen..
Since recently getting into the band on a ridiculous level of borderline teen fanboy fanaticism I’ve gone back to it and this one definitely holds up as something a bit special.
Love it.

that's awesome man, the first time I heard MAYH I didn't really enjoy it much because I didn't get it and I was very young at the time. I listened to Morningrise and Orchid, and after that it finally clicked. Now it's one of my favorite albums of all time.
This album is also incredible. I really enjoy the concept of this one and lyrically I think it's one of their strongest records

Other than the moor, godheads lament, and white cluster i find this album kinda boring. It's near the bottom of their discography for me

The last bit of Moonlight Vertigo is class.
And yep dungboy the story contained here is a belter although the lyrics given the whole context of the thing are a bit lightweight I have to say.

Yes, that riff in Moonlight is a top ten Opeth moment. Album is perfect.

This is one of those rare albums I bought without listening to it at all, and for $6.
Here's to hoping it's near as good as their follow-up.

I spent way too much money on the 2002 Candlelight vinyl pressing of this years ago.. worth it though. I've been revisiting some Opeth recently, jammed Orchid yesterday, maybe i'll add this to the list

Can’t stand justin bieber vocals om here. Album is way too scattered with musical ideas, meaning you get no musical flow here. Some of the quieter parts feel forced, especially those with cheesy vocals. There are some nice melodies though, you can’t deny these band can play their instruments very well and precise when needed. Blackwater Park blows this out of water with ease.

It has its super mellow moments and it's not up there with BP and GR but a really good album.

Yeah it's not my favorite either. Can't really put my finger on why, but maybe he's got a point about the flow.
