yeah this record would benefit from the complete removal of porcelain heart [2]
"That said I'd search for a way to implement Burden's intro into my hypothetical version of the album, because it's beautiful and it's basically the only memorable part of the song"
The whole thing is beaut ;-;

Cut out Burden, Porcelain Heart and Hex Omega and you're left with some of Opeth's best material.

Only cut out the quiet parts of Porcelain Heart. This would also get rid of those terrible "I'm 15 and depressed" lyrics.

I remember hearing that heavy as hell opening riff straight after Coil for the first time and very loudly saying 'oh shit'.

I'm thinking this might be an underrated Opeth record, love this so far. Heir Apparent is probably my favourite.

This is very underrated, mainly because the 3 metal epics are easily up to the standards of the ones on GR, BwP, and SL. The rest varies, though I love Coil and Burden, until that guitar down-tuning shit at the end at least.
