Finally revisited Eros tracks since their release. Smile and Dallas definitely had potential but Melanie seemed kind of lame. I want a studio version of Finger Of Death (Buffalo) SOOOO bad though. Ugh, that song was fiiiilthy.

Almost everything on Gore is average or worse so why even argue about what tracks are the best?

When I first listened to Gore I was kind of underwhelmed, but still thought it seemed ok. Then I just ignored it for a while, but when I decided to go back and see if it would grow on me, it did the opposite. That album does just about nothing for me

I’ve had an opposite feeling at first listen. I was blown away by this band, then Gore came out and I loved a lot of it, though I instantly knew something about it was weird and some songs felt underwhelming. And I wasn’t wrong, I know every single Deftones’ song like the back of my hand and they’re my favourite band of all time but Gore is just so lame for the most part. Even the best songs on it that are as good as everything else they’ve made so far feel kinda weird. Still love them though.
