"Sacrifice" might be my favorite song this year. Fuck it's such a good closer.

Heard about how these guys want to take a cut of the profits from their merch worker. That wouldn’t fly back in my day crazy how times have changed.

“That wouldn’t fly back in my day”
I would love to hear all about how you would punch on with the band, dad. Please go on.

Going to be really cool to see these guys in a club that holds 700 people. The chance of getting right up to the front of the stage is very good - as long as you're willing to hold in your piss. I'm going to give it a shot, but worst case scenario, I watch from about 50 feet away.
Pumped!

Nice, report back. I see them next month; about the same sized venue too.

Massive return to form for the boys. Seeing them back to back in March, keen as.

Caught them Saturday night. Couldn't have been much more happy with the setlist. Sounded fantastic. Feels weird not hearing Of Matter anymore, but we've had ten years of that. Smile, King and Deception all hit so hard. Waited until after the show to try to get new album vinyl, they were sold out of almost everything, will have to order that one unfortunately.
Intervals was fantastic as well. Made me wonder why I don't listen to them more. Super happy.

The setlist would be perfect with Of Matter. I'm sad I won't get the chance to experience this song live.

Oh my GOD the Vancouver show last night. I've seen them in 2013, 2016, 2018, and then last night. This was not only the best they've ever sounded in a venue for me, but it was quite possibly the best metal set I've seen in my life.
Dan belted his first notes of the night, Natural Disaster, several registers lower than normal and it was bruuuuuutal. Crushingly good. He then went on to give the most polished & consistent vocal performance I've seen live, ever. He hit all the notes that would have previously given him trouble, included those written by Ashe.
The light show that night, especially with all the accompanying fog, was HYPNOTIZING. I hit some pens in the pit so I was consistently both buzzed and high and I was basically in a euphoric state watching this unfold.
Killer setlist. Nothing from Polaris I think but we got some surprises from One, including a 3-song encore from that record. Concealing Fate 1-3 I believe?
Dan is also in full Frontman Mode. Dude is the most animated I've ever seen him. He was loving it clearly. The whole room was bouncing in unison, far far more than your usual metal show, and they were clearly into it.
I'd say we're seeing Dan at his peak now. Very lucky to have caught that show. Worth getting a few hours of sleep over the past 2 days just to fly-in and fly-out to catch that show.
Intervals was fun but Aaron's guitar wasn't mixed high enough IMO. And Alluvial....nice guys, I like some of their tracks, but it was a bit of a mismatch on this tour and I'm not a huge fan of their live sound after seeing them this second time.
But man. Tesseract. I'm got lots of fuzzy feelings. What a journey, following them from the first demos up until this point and filling rooms as big as they do. Every time I see them there's a monumental jump in quality. Really blew me away this time. I think a huge crowd of massive fans had a lot to do with the energy in the room, and that is a feedback loop that goes right back into the artists' performances. Perfect concert.

I'd probably appreciate a lot of this material more if I saw it live. Dudes can play, Dan is one of the best live singers in the game easy. Dude puts the work in and even if I don't vibe with the meandering djent jams as much as I used to I gotta respect their effort and talent.

Noooo you missed a stellar show. Well at the end, he did say "We'll see you next year", so I'm thinking another big tour is in the works. If it doesn't hit my city again then I guess I'll fly back to Vancouver for their next performance.

The show in Denver was super sweet but the guy in front of me kept trying to fight me because I was "spilling beer on his shoes" even though mine was empty. Turns out the dude was Vessel from Sleep Token (In between Daniel Tompkins gave him a shout out). Wish I was making this up.

Piss Vessel from Sleep Token, famously anonymous, was just standing there and Dan pointed him out???

Yep already over this as expected, sound is just very stale at this point, Dan's vocal acrobatics the only thing still semi interesting
