This and Blonde Redhead’s Sit Down for Dinner are two gems from 2023 I keep coming back to each time Autumn’s approaching.

Listened to this for the first time in ages. Definitely a really solid album and I really like every song here. Just a bit forgettable compared to the rest of their discog unfortunately.

This is less forgettable than the S/T (LP) otherwise agreed in that their other material surpasses it quite easily. Then again, this is v good if I pretend someone else released it. A rather lovely gem of an album but not a great Slowdive album.

Nah, Self Titled is a great album. My second favourite of theirs easily.

I’ve done this dance many a time but it just doesn’t do it for me. Slowdive at their best have a hard to quantify air about them, an ethereal quality. Even tho this pales in comparison to Pygmalion, Souvlaki or their earliest EPs, it still comes closer to that vibe.

I think Self-titled definitely gets to that level of ethereal-ness. Slomo, Don't Know Why and Falling Ashes in particular. I just lose myself to those songs. No album gets close to Pygmalion in ethereal-ness though but that is just an ambient album.

oh, it’s not JUST an ambient album but yeah, it defo is built around being that at its core perhaps. Maybe one day I’ll ‘get’ the S/T (still annoys me the EP, which I love, is also ‘S/T’ lol)

I have never managed to get into Slowdive's early stuff retrospectively but I love this. And the S/T is great too.

Just listened to kisses and when the sun hits. Shit, these guys are pretty good. How have I not heard of them, having grown up in the 90s?
Is this yet another fukn discog I have to go through? Shit is piling up lol.

They weren’t that big in the 90s. Definitely under the radar.

Ok, penciled.
I do feel like I’ve heard OF them, possibly just on here.
