Excited to catch them at the inaugural Blissmas show, curious to what the set list ends up being. Never caught Greg live so definitely looking forward to that and hearing the songs in person.

I prefer thoughtcrimes to these guys by a mile, this doesn’t even come within spitting distance of TDEP

Shocking news, the instrumental band members of ETID continue to make music that does not sound like TDEP

yeah i think thoughtcrimes has a higher ceiling than both better lovers and many eyes

30 Under 13 and Become So Small are both heavily influenced by TDEP, regardless of who’s playing it. EP comes across as a half n half of both bands to me
I am liking this significantly more than I remember, I will say. T/t is fun as hell.

"I prefer thoughtcrimes to these guys by a mile, this doesn’t even come within spitting distance of TDEP"
DEP had 6 studio albums and around 5-6 E.P.s over the span of 20 years. This is a four song E.P. and the only thing this band has released, thus far.
In what reality could you even do a "is this better than Dillinger" comparison, at this stage?

Exactly lol

What exactly am I supposed to compare this to if not who they most sonically resemble? And why can’t I look across the aisle and say “hey I think this other band that also came from the ashes of DEP is onto something better”?

^ When they amass something of a discography beyond 20 minutes of music, then a comparison is valid.
Yes, they naturally sonically resemble ETID and DEP, that's a given... but WTF can they possibly do at this stage to outdo around 40 years of combined output after effectively just forming?
Maybe after 2-3 full-length albums (at sheer minimum), you'd see where this band truly ranks compared to the bands they emerged from. Making a straight-faced judgement like that at this stage though, is ridiculous.
