nah the reddit djent fans are way way worse than anywhere else i've seen, especially r/periphery where the mods seemingly remove anything even slightly critical

lol just saw that there is an "unpopular opinion" thread over there with a disclaimer that the opinion shouldn't shit on the band. Wouldn't most of the "unpopular opinions" on a band specific subreddit be critical of the band? The radical unpopular opinions mostly devolve to "I actually only like *insert song* a little instead of a lot" and "I actually like *insert song* a lot instead of just a little".

anyways is there a way that I can vote for the other review to be the main review instead of this farce?

glad we can all agree the review is dogshit, lucky can't get negs

Why does this review read like diet David Foster Wallace? Committing 1000+ words to a 1.5 album is some hate-on dedication.

" mean pardon me for not really hearing the emotive vocal styles we hear today much in older music bar a singer or two, most guys and girls back in the 60s that got into music just sounded super... plain, not a lot of emotion to their sound."
i think you have problems distinguishing emotion beyond repressed teen angst and daddy issues

I gave 1,000+ to Pianos Become the Teeth, why can't *I* get hatemail too? :^(

60s singers hit the notes but the notes themselves are straight

I can remedy that if you'd like.
But, seriously, I don't have an issue with the review. Just too djense for what seems to be a very middling album.

Self titled, Omega and P4 are all you need from this band tbh.

This album is probably disgustingly Djenty

the fuck does this even mean? I guess Layne Staley never had any other problems than that in your eyes considering Layne's one of the most emotive vocalists I've ever heard, same with Chris Cornell. And Alanis Morrissette only knew men-bashing in your eyes by this same logic considering she's up there.
Honestly I'm not sure why that vocal style just seems to be absent pre-80s at the earliest (Trent Reznor is on the list easily).

i am completely baffled by the way you think of art and frankly it scares me

To each their own and all, but I’m glad to not look at music the same way. I feel like there’s so much shit i love now that i wouldn’t love still. Like, i love some of the same singers Venin listed, but still

art was born in trent reznor's creepy hormonal vomit and it died with chester bennington
