Hehe Deliberately coming over to ruin a pre-release celebration of core fans, I can understand you being jealous of this crazy excitement, it's rare isn't it, I know.

@iChuckles I don't know. but I have a question about your review, why did you express in your review at the time that you thought this could be the band's final record?

@notagenius
I think the fact that there are two songs, "Bound To The Burn" & "Sworn To Silence" that specifically references Brendan's writer's block and his pleas of "let me leave, I've given enough", not to mention the constant usages of the word goodbye in "A Mass Grave of Saints". I would love to be wrong though, but I can't shake the feeling that the record has the vibe of a last hurrah from them.
@johnnyofthewell
Thanks for clarifying. Disliking this record isn't weird when you can definitely use the argument that it's not doing anything terribly original and is able to coast off the fact that it doesn't sound super digitized like so much other generic metalcore music is currently doing. It's basically Misery Signals worship music, which the band openly to admitted to on multiple occasions.

Enjoyed the recent discog run I did for these guys, excited to jam this.
Difference Between Hell and Home my favourite so far.

Consistently one of the most overrated metalcore bands on this site.
Gave their last 2 LPs another listen to see if a couple years have changed my opinion... nope. Solid 3-3.5 band.

is there ever gonna be a middle ground in this thread? we only got the 4.5+ peeps and the ones calling it overrated out here

My thoughts are kind of middle ground. Its perfectly fine metalcore but isnt anything special. They didnt reinvent or innovate the wheel, they just made a really nice wheel

I am honest, their last 3 albums all sound the same and they are fucking generic.. most of their songs have the same formular (breakdown after first chorus)... Brendan never knows when to shut up, he never lets the music speak and this is a bit sad but I gave it anyway a 5 cause of Kuma
