Yeah World of Violence had the same DNA as this, Phantasma was pretty great too

Hail to the Fire is a phenomenal track (it’s on World of Violence). Here’s a YouTube link for it, if anyone is a fan and hasn’t heard it- https://youtu.be/viAmt4uDDFc

the debut is pretty good but its definitely nowhere near this level. much more pop punky. got some jams tho. i dont get much out of their reunion album tho

honestly if you want more like this from them your best bet is checking out their demos albums phantasma and world of violence its the closest they came to making stuff like this again, but unfortunately the band split up before both records were finished (one in like 2009 the other in 2016)

That's a shame. I would've loved to hear something in a similar vein.

I've never found anything that sounds like this but Joliette-Principia gave me similar thematic vibes. Also a song called Succulent by Bird Problems gave me so much hope for that album to sound something like this but the disappointment was heavy there.

@Pika Check out Phantasma. It’s an unreleased album that’s in the same vein as this.

It doesn’t top this record, but this is a timeless post hardcore masterpiece. So it’s not too much of a knock on Phantasma lol

Edit: whoops I didn’t see someone already rec’d Phantasma

The only other band that reminds me of this is Glassjaw. “Our Color Green” has a ton of similarities with this imo

Nate’s scream is damn near unmatched in my opinion. It’s even more impressive when watching a live video. Such a talented vocalist

I heard that song and decided to check out the album that song is on, and its pretty decent. It kinda sounds like what would happen if you took a little bit of Sunshine era Finch and sprinkled in some Sikth.

Stuff that sounds like this? Hrmm....

Would Reuben scratch a similar itch to this? Sort of a similar phxc/alt/rock combo with some kinda mathy shit thrown in. mebbe sorta almost not really kinda sounds like it

Marmozets first album popped in my head, too. They took a bit of a shit after that, tho

I dunno, I haven't been on a phxc kick for a minute and things are feelin a lil foggy, so these may or may not be good suggestions

My local record store guy gave me this CD for free back in the day. Still probably one of the best presents I've ever gotten.

I got this CD randomly at Walmart cuz I’d heard one song of theirs, and I thought the artwork was cool. Back in like 2006 or something

Surprised no one has made the obvious faith no more suggestion, but besides that the closest thing I've found to this is the basement tapes vol.1 by NK (North Korea), definitely worth listening to if you want more say hello to sunshine vibes
