"I've never heard Kurt nail the vocals live like that and he was hitting notes I didn't know he could manage."
Yeah new Royal Coda is significantly more difficult to cover than Kurt's older stuff. His vocals have noticeably improved, and he was already the best DGD vocalist.

As We Fall Into Deep Waters is pretty fire, it's kind of nice to hear somewhat more straightforward drumming from Joe for a change.

Yeah the new Royal Coda singles sound infinitely more exciting than a good chunk of this record. Very excited to hear the whole thing in two days.

Apparently DGD shows lately have been increasingly more rowdy and crowd crush is a problem. Probably because the average age of DGD fans continues to lower, thus less standards/more bad behavior due to inexperienced/asshole teenagers. Or it’s because they’re turning into a pseudo party band.
I could be wrong though. I’ve been to ~10 DGD shows at a variety of venues throughout the span of the bands existence and NEVER had such issue.

Add that to the list of reasons why the DGD fanbase sucks. . . . .
Tuck it in under "rape apologists"

I saw an excuse for the bad crowds of “it’s probably older fans going to the shows knowing Kurt is performing and getting too intense”
I’m guessing a lot of ppl going to see Kurt specifically is staying for Royal Coda and bouncing before DGDs set. Also Kurt DGD is the most tame version of DGD.

Nah they would stay for DGD, Kurt's been singing his songs with them

Yeah but that’s like 2-3 songs out of the whole set.
In my experience, the older a crowd is, the less rowdy it is.

No doubt about the older crowd being less rowdy, but if you're a kurt fan you are def staying to hear shit like Carl Barker, Tree Village, Uneasy Hearts, Rock Solid, etc live with him lol

I suppose that is fair. Although I do imagine there are purists who will go for RC and not stay for DGD due to the controversies / lackluster recent releases. I'd consider leaving a show like that thinking about it now - I've seen Kurt perform those songs already a few times and sitting through an entire DGD show to see a few cuts is a gametime decision for me.
At the end of the day, the band does have some accountability over crowd crush, similar to the Astroworld catastrophe. Bands/musicians should be more cognizant now more than ever of the aggressiveness of the crowds, overpacking, etc. The venue security can only do so much to get people in control short of stopping the show all together (which in certain circumstances should happen).
