Noise rock is just rocky punk that is heavily distorted relying on feedback "noise" and a general lofi sound. Go further into the noisiness of it all and you start to just get into the general Noise genre which I'm not super into cause it just sounds like static to me.

Like if you want it in the most simple terms it's just rock that is more noisy lol

"Why genuinely feels like they’re just trying to see how bad they can make their lyrics be"

this is not technically correct / the two have separate lineages / the stuff I'd consider 'deeper' noise rock is essential dark psychedelic with a shitload of guitar mutilation /
but metalcore was initially an offshoot of hardcore, which was then largely co-opted by At the Gates ripoffs which were then co-opted by breakdowns which have been partially co-opted by wanknoodle bands (all of which are very easy to pinpoint for anyone who vaguely knows what they're talking about). noise rock grew out of several different families of bands (not specifically punk) and is more of a generalised approach than a single genre
you are a fucking idiot i love steak

Why's lyrics are not meant to be poetic or anything, they are meant to be direct

Kind of like how punk has always been

Screaming vocals are used in a lot of hardcore punk sure... but I mean genres are so convergent it's silly to debate. I just immediately thought sludge metal or something more industrial so it's funny to see him immediately think metalcore.

Why feels like raw in your face lyrics. Like an innocent and pure kid asking genuine questions, questions that should still pop in our minds as adults yet we get corrupted by this sinster cult of a world. And I'm not saying this in a demagogue way since I know the answer is very complex but still... Masterpiece record
