I dont know, but Dead Flag Blues makes me want to put a knife through my hand or something, its just not a good sign.

i think you should put on headphones tonight, and listen to the entire album through. give it one more chance, i'd be shocked if you didn't feel moved by this album.

Im listening to it now, I could not just sit down and listen to it, after 3 minutes of the song I had to stand up, go to the refrigerator, do nothing useful, but I still had to do something its so boring. Sorry, maybe Im just not open-minded enough

its not for everyone, but i think that it requires more patience than you are probably used to giving a song/album

lol I just realized this review is like really conceptual and hardly talks about the actual music and yet chan was bitching at me for writing a conceptual review that hardly talked about the actual music (according to him. I'm pretty sure it talked about the music more than this review does. This review sort of implies the style of the music by the tone but I think I did that with my review, as well, well not so much the intended style but like the contrived pretentiousness behind it.) People were just butthurt by my review clearly...

There's a pretty clear difference between a concept review and a review using an unfunny "concept" to talk about the fanboys of an album.

>_< and this is why I deleted the review (people kept telling me it was awful). Don't worry guysss I'm NOT gonna mock anyone/mention fanboys on the next review I write.

As an ode to post-apocalyptic landscapes its pretty damn great, but it does carry the stink of the auteur about it. It could do with a pruning shears to lop around 10 minutes out.

It carries unneeded bloat. From 7 minutes to 10 on Dead Flag Blues, 15 minutes to 17.58 on East Hastings and pretty much the entire last 1/3 of Providence. A Microcosmic similar example would be the Mars Volta song Cicatriz Esp, cracking overall pity about the fat.

Then again this meandering travail is a prominent feature in the majority of post-rock I've heard so I guess most fans enjoy it, not me though.

I wouldn't consider it as fat honestly it's more like features of noise music than anything else. It isn't detrimental to the music though, it's more of an atmosphere situation that just bores you but keeps the mood set for others.
