I mean, I don't think it sounds LIKE Nova, but Nine Inch Nails' The Fragile and Year Zero would give you that depressing electronic angst you might be looking for, heck.

Thought you said Node. If you are looking for something akin to the Nova track, I'd say late 90's/early 00's Moby or some Massive Attack. Maybe even some of Depeche Mode's Exciter or Ultra.

Moby's Play and 18 are the only albums from him I enjoy so start there.

And Johnny prob has much better examples above.

I actually really enjoyed this, even though it is really generic. I loved the riffs and it was very catchy.

damn even is this a test has grown on me. only song that still does completely nothing for me is clockwork the instrumental is alright but that hook really does not land for me

still i am continuously surprised that this is winning me over. i think the fact that theyre not really pretending to be a core band anymore is the right move bc mixing that in w the electronics did NOT work for me on alien

yea it sure has been a wild cognitively dissonant time wrapping my head around the fact that i actually like a marcus album lol, esp since this did nothing for me initially. still have some legitimate beefs as i continue to not like marcus's screaming much but since its taken a relative backseat its at least easier to stomach

Alien is definitely a lot catchier and more fun whereas this is a bit more moody and atmospheric. personally I think Alien's gonna stick out with me more than this but both are great records.
