New album is good but nothing amazing. Will say it is just a tad better than this one though.

enjoying the noisy slacker rock style of the new one, production is way too blown out but it almost works

Definitely like it more than this one, but idk if Stefan’s ever been quite this pitchy. Yow

Not a fan of the lo-fi production on the new one

It's about on par with this, although there are fewer singular, memorable highlights like Four Chords or Totally Fine. The only standout track for me is Hallways.

I loved this but I'm not a big fan of the new one. It feels sloppy and not in a good way.

something that really bothers me... the transition from "needed to hear it" to "paranoid" is completely fucking flat and takes the wind out of the album every single playthrough. the latter is supposed to be the most loud explosive unhinged song on the entire record but i have to turn the volume up every time because its mastered(?) to be way softer than the chill cool-down song before it.

the new one is a good deal more collected and coherent than this (which is by far the sloppiest thing they've ever released) — it's far from a perfect record, but there's a much clearer sense of the album they were trying to make behind it

does make me appreciate the two or three times they struck gold on this a little more in hindsight though

alex i have noticed on many occasions that “quieter” songs are actually louder than “louder” ones and I often have to turn my volume up on the “louder” ones to perceive them as being loud enough but I think a lot of it is just a perception thing. because the fewer elements there are in a song the easier they are to focus on and it makes them feel louder. idk if that’s just me but I have used a decibel tracker on louder songs that feel quieter and usually I find that they are actually louder

New album is a lot more dull than all their prior releases which is a bummer. It has a few good-great tunes though.

Olive Garden sucks

i don't get the hate for the opener tbh, but yep Olive Garden is unbelievably terrible

The first half of this record is pure fire, whereas the new one gets better as it goes along. Closer is my fav
