A merciful PB.

New song's great. Fits right in with Kiss The Go-Goat and Mary On A Cross, the third song from their "1969" era.
It worked well in the credits of the new movie, which was overall quite a disappointing concert film.

I heard Absolution from it and honestly Tobias sounded like ass. Idk what they were thinking with that. I guess he was having an off night but they already spent the recording money or whatever

Finally found some time to check what's this new son, The Future Is A Foreign Land, is all about. Damn, it's a lovely song, if it'd one of their earlier songs I'm pretty sure it could have landed on our wedding's playlist.

Nooo, the song doesn't suck! It's a sneaky little catchy thing -- far from their best ones, but still... a lovely one!

Not nearly as good as either of the 7 inches tracks but I like they went kinda back to that style. A full record of some 60’s jams would be nice

Still wild to me that this has a lower avg than Infest and Prequelle. It only really has one big miss but the rest of it is far better than most of those other records imo
Like cmon secular haze is a hot pile of dogshit

still hope it’s the same style as the satanic panic ep. I didn’t like Future is a Foreign Land as much as Mary on a Cross or Kiss the Go Goat but it was still solid, I’d really love more tracks like that.

"still hope it’s the same style as the satanic panic ep"
I'd love that, but it feels like they've closed that chapter with 'The Future Is a Foreign Land'.

What makes you think that? If anything I feel it’s an indication that they like the sound enough to go down that route again after Mary on a Cross became populat

‘Ghost band lore’-wise, the ‘Rite Here Rite Now’ film really felt like a closing chapter for the band, and the song ended the film as the credits rolled.
It felt like the next chapter will be something new, I guess.

I want my Ghost grunge record.
Idk I don’t really see where they could go from here if they’re pulling from eras of classic rock other than going even further back

Hopefully it's a change of pace. I like Prequelle and Impera, but the 80s hard rock thing is wearing a little after two albums back to back.
Would love a heavier metal album, but that seems unlikely.

Not enough people are pointing out that Hunter’s Moon is probably a top 5 Ghost track. The assault of palm muted notes during the verses is kinda insane and that riff during the bridge has no fucking right to go that hard.
And that kinda brings me back to the hack point that this *isnt* a metal band. foh, sure there’s some songs that aren’t metal, but really try to tell me that songs like Cirice, Mummy Dust, Absolution, Watcher in the Sky, Twenties, Faith, and like half of Opus aren’t heavy as hell just with a sexy and boyish high pitched vocalist.
