At the 4 minute mark of "Chasmal Fires" when Joe takes a deep breath.......fuck that gives me goosebumps.

it's funny to think the engineer took the inhale out but as a last minute decision i told him to put it back in... i'm so glad i did. it adds so much.

Great call. Inhales can be a organic vocal hook that is sadly looked down on and considered "unprofessional" when left in. At least that's something I come across in the music community.

i think it's contextual. sometimes they're very distracting, and i did take a bunch out - but that one added so much to a very specific moment. i think this album is made of moments like that. i don't think i could be any prouder of this album if i tried - it all came together so beautifully. it's going to be one hell of an album to match but perhaps in a few years ;]

"So there will be more from ES?"

no, but there will be a 'spiritual successor' of sorts. it will be different but it'll carry on the same trajectory.

Couldn't have said this better. For weeks I've been driving to and from work with this blasting. The other morning I could barely see out of my front windshield (huge snow storm) and I felt this album as a guiding light throughout all the chaos happening on the road. Cars getting stuck, cars in the ditch, couldn't see the road.......it was bliss lol.

Second half of Chasmal Fires is mesmerizing. This and 'Machine is Burning' have been my absolute favorite in recent years. Also last release from Heretoir and Wildernessking.
